| ALFRED G. SCHEID is Chairman of the Board of Scheid Vineyards. Known by everyone as Al, he was one of the founders of the company in 1972 along with E. F. Hutton & Company and has served continuously since that time. Up until 1988, Al was involved in various other business opportunities in addition to the vineyard business, including a color graphics firm and the founding of two biotechnology companies for which he served as CEO. In 1988, he bought out the interests of E. F. Hutton, becoming the sole owner of Scheid Vineyards. Al served as the company's Chief Executive Officer until 2002, when the CEO role was assumed by Scott D. Scheid. Al is a founder of the California Association of Winegrape Growers, a trade association that represents the interests of California wine grape producers, and has served as its chairman. Al is also a founder of Monterey County Vintners and Growers Association, a trade association composed primarily of wine and grape producers. He is a graduate of the Harvard Graduate School of Business and is the father of Scott and Heidi Scheid. | |
| SCOTT D. SCHEID is President and Chief Executive Officer of Scheid Vineyards. He joined Scheid Vineyards in 1986 as Vice President and served as the Chief Operating Officer from 1997 until assuming the CEO role in 2002. Prior to joining Scheid Vineyards, Scott was an options trader with E. F. Hutton & Company in New York. Scott has served as a director and Vice Chair of the California Association of Winegrape Growers and currently serves as a director of the Monterey County Vintner and Growers Association. In addition, he serves as a Vice Chair on the Board of Trustees at the National Steinbeck Center in Salinas, California. Scott holds a B.A. degree in economics from Claremont Men's College. | |
| HEIDI M. SCHEID is Senior Vice President of Scheid Vineyards. She joined Scheid Vineyards in 1992 as Director of Planning and served as its Chief Financial Officer from 1997 to 2001. Prior to joining Scheid Vineyards, Heidi served as a senior valuation analyst at Ernst & Young, LLP for two years, and was an associate with Interven Partners, a venture capital firm. Heidi is a director of Wine Market Council, a wine industry association aimed at expanding the American wine consumer base. She holds an M.B.A. degree from the University of Southern California. | |
| KURT J. GOLLNICK is Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Scheid Vineyards. Kurt joined Scheid Vineyards in 1988 as General Manager, Vineyard Operations. For seven years prior to joining Scheid Vineyards, he was a vineyard manager for Thornhill Ranches of Santa Maria, California, where he managed 1,200 acres of vineyards. Kurt is a director of Monterey County Vintners and Growers Association and serves as a director of Wine Institute, representing Monterey and Santa Cruz counties. He also has served as a director of the California Association of Winegrape Growers from 1989 to 1997, and as president of the Central Coast Grape Growers and Monterey Grape Growers Associations. Kurt holds a B.S. degree in agricultural economics from the California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo. | |
| MICHAEL S. THOMSEN is Scheid Vineyards' Chief Financial Officer. Mike joined Scheid Vineyards in 1997 as Controller after working twelve years at the Big 5 accounting firm of Deloitte & Touche as a senior audit manager. Mike is a Certified Public Accountant, and has a B.A. degree in Business Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara. | |
| JOHN L. CRARY became a Director of Scheid Vineyards in 1997. Currently, John is president of Juniper Capital LLC, a financial advisory and investment firm. Since 1988, John has been a corporate financial advisor and venture capital investor active with companies in various high technology as well as basic industries. Previously, he was an investment banker in the corporate finance department of E. F. Hutton & Company, which he joined in 1979. John has been a consultant to Scheid Vineyards since 1993 in connection with financial matters, acquisitions and business strategy. He is a graduate of the University of California at Irvine and the Columbia University Graduate School of Business. | |
| ROBERT P. HARTZELL became a Director of Scheid Vineyards in 1997. Bob is the owner of Harmony Vineyards, a producer of premium Zinfandel wine grapes near Lodi, California. From 1978 to 1996, he was president of the California Association of Winegrape Growers. For six years during this period, Bob also served on the Agricultural Policy Advisory Committee to the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture and the U.S. Trade Representative in connection with the General Agreement on Trade and Tariffs negotiations. He has also served as Deputy Director of the California Department of Food and Agriculture. Bob holds a B.S. degree from the University of California at Davis. |
